TWC supporting women for 120 years
The Women’s Club was founded during the first pandemic in Australia – the Bubonic Plague 1900-1902. Then when the second pandemic – the Spanish Flu hit in 1919, the Club stayed open to support the nurses coming to Sydney from Western Australia to nurse the pandemic victims.
During WW1 and WW2 the Club opened its doors to support women and children in Sydney during their time of greatest need.
Now we are in the third pandemic and celebrating on October 9th one hundred and twenty years of the Women’s Club.
Join us for a presentation by Jenny Strachan to celebrate this remarkable milestone of our Club, which has always been there as a support for women, by women, to safely “walk each other home”.
