The Women’s Club in partnership with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music presents the “Emerging Women in Music” program. It is a concert series featuring nine performers/groups including pianists, harpists, vocalists, poets and quartets across two time slots; morning melodies from 10:30-11:30am and evening soirees from 6:00-7:30pm. Additionally, Q&As will be held after each performance for those curious to find out more on our performers and their practice
Katrina Choi
Pianist
Friday 2 September 2022 (10:30am to 11:30am)
Katrina Choi is a passionate chamber pianist, largely inspired by her teachers Phillip Shovk and Clemens Leske. She completed her Master and Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium as a scholarship recipient. Kat has continued her connection with the Conservatorium by being an Open Academy tutor since 2019, and has interest in commencing a Doctorate.
In Europe, she has performed as a soloist in France and Austria, and has had numerous masterclasses with international pianists. Kat was the winner of the 2022 Shoalhaven Piano Championship, and 2021 Sydney Eisteddfod duo sonata award with Amanda Chen. She adores organising annual concerts with her peers, one of them raising over $1000 for the NSW Rural Fire Service during the devastating 2019 bushfires. When not playing the piano, Kat can be found frolicking in nature, eating potatoes, or playing cards with friends.
