6.00pm to 6.30pm. Zoom only.
Madeleine Stewart is an award-winning comedian, writer, producer, advisor and lifelong disability advocate.
She is the creator and producer behind Crips & Creeps: Sydney’s first accessible comedy club providing a platform for comedians that are marginalised due to sexuality, gender, race or disability. Held every month at 107 Projects, Redfern, the show has been highly recognised for its positive effect on the local comedy scene, even winning Madeleine the prestigious AMP Tomorrow Maker Award in 2019.
As a professional funny person, Madeleine has a decade’s experience performing standup alongside industry heavyweights like Adam Hills, Rove McManus, and Zoe Coombs Marr to name a few. She regularly uses her time on stage as an opportunity to talk about disability, speaking about the experiences and issues many disabled people face, especially herself. Her work has been showcased as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival, Sydney Fringe Comedy and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She’s also been featured on Tom Ballard’s Tonightly and on Dylan Alcott’s podcast, Listenable.
Madeleine passionately believes that Access is a basic human right, and so she is continuously driven to create inclusive and nurturing spaces for all members of the Sydney community.
