Join us for our November Club Lunch with special guest Sally Hurst, an Australian palaeontologist, archaeologist, author, and science communicator whose passion for discovery has inspired audiences across the country. An Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie University and founder of the Found a Fossil Project, Sally is dedicated to helping communities recognise, understand and protect Australia's extraordinary fossil heritage. Her career has taken her from excavation sites across Australia and overseas to classrooms, museums and science festivals, where she brings the excitement of real-world discovery to life.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to science and education, Sally recently received the 2026 Zonta Women in STEM Award, an international honour recognising her groundbreaking research, community outreach and dedication to inspiring young girls and students in regional communities to pursue careers in STEM. Her debut book, Found a Fossil, reflects this same passion for making science accessible and encouraging the next generation of discoverers.
