The Club is delighted to coordinate with She Shapes History to present this engaging guided walking tour for Members and Friends.
Behind Sydney’s glittering harbour is a deeper history, shaped by women who led, built, resisted, organised, and imagined something better. But their names are rarely found on plaques or monuments.
The She Shapes History walking tour brings their stories to life.
Walk with us as we uncover the stories of some of the incredible women who shaped Sydney. From Hyde Park, where Gadigal women gathered for generations and later led powerful protests, to Australia’s rebel saint, to Macquarie Street, where one woman stopped the demolition of some of Sydney’s most iconic buildings in the 1940s.
As you walk through the city streets, you’ll uncover the places where women challenged laws, sparked social change, strengthened communities, and shaped the cultural and civic life of Sydney. These are not side stories to history — they are central to the story of the city itself.
The tour will conclude in Hyde Park, and Members are warmly invited to continue the conversation over lunch in the Club Dining Room afterwards. We encourage you to make a reservation and enjoy the opportunity to reflect on the tour together at the Club.
