Join us for an inspiring evening of Women in Music featuring singer-songwriters Paris Whiteley and Sazr (Sarah Roche).
Our Women in Music concerts celebrate the incredible contributions of women to the world of music, with a special emphasis on emerging Australian artists.
Paris Whiteley is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter whose heartfelt folk-pop music combines soulful melodies with reflective lyricism. A recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Paris draws inspiration from artists including Julia Jacklin, Billie Marten and Bess Atwell. She has performed extensively across Sydney with her band The Stellas, as well as with indie-west group Selene and the Strange, where she plays bass guitar. Now stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Paris brings an intimate performance of original songs that showcase her distinctive voice and thoughtful songwriting.
Joining her is Sazr, the indie folk and ambient project of Sydney musician Sarah Roche. Also a recent Sydney Conservatorium graduate, Sarah channels her self-described "chronic overthinking" into beautifully crafted songs that explore emotions often left unspoken. Influenced by artists such as Adrianne Lenker, Searows and Bon Iver, Sazr blends lush ambient textures with delicate folk melodies. Performing alongside Paris Whiteley on synthesiser and backing vocals, and Sally Deck on slide guitar and backing vocals, Sazr creates an immersive and deeply moving live experience.
Together, Paris and Sazr present an evening of original music that celebrates the creativity, authenticity and artistry of Australia's next generation of female musicians.
