Our Women in Music concerts celebrate the incredible contributions of women to the world of music, with a special emphasis on Australian music.
Solstice Quartet is an all female Saxophone quartet based in Sydney. We are all current tertiary students studying Saxophone (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Our aim is to support other women artists in their practise by performing female works, especially Australian female works, and highlight the importance of female voices within music. We are focused on playing a diverse range of repertoire including tango, funk and classical music.
As an all female ensemble we are passionate about amplifying and showcasing the incredible talents of female composers and artists who are often underrepresented within mainstream and classical settings.
Our current ensemble format is: Jacqueline Flett (Baritone saxophone) Jasmine Zaitsev (Tenor saxophone), Mackenzie Cullen (Alto saxophone), Holly Williams (Soprano saxophone). We are a strong ensemble of high academic achievers and all work both in professional and community settings.
